Recent reports from DigiTimes and Electronista claim that part makers are preparing components to begin production of the iPhone 5 along with iPad 3 for an October release.
“Taiwan-based companies included in the supply chain for iPhone 5 and iPad 3 have begun to prepare materials for the production of the two devices.”
According to the sources, iPhone 5 and iPad 3 should go in production in August, will ramp up in September and iPhone 5 release date will be scheduled somewhere in October. Most of rumors suggest that iPhone 5 release date should be somewhere in September where as it is unclear that what is the iPad 3 release date because there are news that Apple is planning to increase iPad 2 shipments for the third quarter of this year. So it’s difficult to say whether we will see iPad 3 this year or not.
However, we should keep in mind that DigiTimes reports hit-or-miss with their predictions. Earlier they claimed that Apple has started certifying process of parts for iPad 3 which is against this new report.
Among these all the rumors, Apple is the only one which knows when iPhone 5 and iPad 3 will go in production. So we don’t know certain things until Apple makes any official announcement.
