“Sources with knowledge of the situation say reports claiming AT&T has blacked out employee vacations during the last two weeks of September in preparation for the retail debut of the next iPhone are misinformed. Instead, it’s going to be an October surprise – the month in which Apple will be launching its next generation iPhone.”

A source familiar with Apple’s plans said to All Things D; “I don’t know why AT&T’s calling for all hands on deck those weeks, but it’s not for an iPhone launch”. To answering the question, when can we expect the company to uncrate the iPhone 5? A source just said “October,” while declining to offer a hard launch date of iPhone 5 in October.

Recent snippet from All Things D might be a very reliable information as All Things D is well connected to reliable sources familiar with Apple products. iOS 5 release in the fall is the only concrete information we have available so far. iPhone 5 would not be released until iOS 5 is ready to roll out. And Friday, September 23 is the very first day of the fall that makes sense that October should be a more likely month for iPhone 5 after all.
